Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reportedly chosen Luis Enrique, the former Barcelona and Spain manager, as their next head coach. This development comes after talks with former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann collapsed last week, leaving the Ligue 1 champions back at the drawing board in their search for a successor to Christophe Galtier.

According to reports from L’Équipe, Enrique was initially hesitant to move ahead with discussions given that PSG were also keen on Nagelsmann. However, he is now set on joining, and the club is hoping to announce his arrival in the coming week.

Enrique’s appointment has been favoured due to his experience, impressive honours list, and his ability to build a collective rather than focusing on one single player. Crucially, both club president Nasser Al Khelaifi and sporting advisor Luís Campos agree with his appointment.

However, the deal is not yet finalised. There are still several details left to iron out, and PSG are reportedly staying in contact with other potential candidates, including Sérgio Conceição and Marcelo Gallardo, in case the deal with Enrique falls through.

This is a developing story and more details will be provided as they become available.
