Harry Maguire Wins Premier League Player of the Month Award for November

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for November. This marks a remarkable turnaround for the center-back, who had fallen out of favor at Old Trafford last season.

Maguire started all three of Manchester United’s league games in November, helping the team keep clean sheets against Fulham, Luton Town and Everton. His commanding performances at the heart of defense were instrumental to United’s perfect record of three wins in three games.

The 29-year-old beat out stiff competition for the award, including Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon, Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling, Bournemouth’s Marcus Tavernier and Luton’s Thomas Kaminski.

This is the first time Maguire has won the Premier League Player of the Month prize. The last Manchester United player to win it was Marcus Rashford back in February.

Maguire seemed set for a move away from United in the summer after losing his place and the captain’s armband last season. However, manager Erik ten Hag put his faith in the defender, believing he provided better tactical balance than Raphael Varane.

With United gradually climbing the table, Maguire will look to continue his fine form when they face Chelsea on Wednesday. His defensive leadership will be crucial if United are to push for a top four spot this season.
