The anticipated move of Julian Nagelsmann to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been called off. The German tactician, who was in talks with the Parisian club for weeks, was expected to replace Christophe Galtier in the PSG dugout. However, both parties have decided to put an end to the negotiations, according to reports from L’Equipe.

Nagelsmann, the former Bayern Munich manager, was reportedly the Qatari ownership’s choice to replace the departing Galtier. The deal was also expected to bring Thierry Henry, the Arsenal legend, as his assistant coach. However, Henry pulled out of the deal, and Nagelsmann’s previous assistant coach, Dino Toppmöller, has been appointed head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The reasons behind the sudden halt in negotiations remain unclear. Like Tottenham and Chelsea, PSG was unable to reach an agreement with the demanding German coach. The French club is now reportedly in talks with a Plan B option, which they expect to announce as their new coach next week. The identity of this individual remains under wraps.

The football world awaits the next move of both Julian Nagelsmann and Paris Saint-Germain. One thing is certain: the summer of 2023 will be remembered for its dramatic managerial shake-ups.
