Nicolas Jackson has completed his medical, paving the way for his transfer from Villarreal.

The 22-year-old forward, who had a breakthrough season last year, scoring 13 goals for the Spanish side, is set to become the first signing of the Mauricio Pochettino era at Chelsea.
Chelsea have agreed to pay Jackson’s release clause, which stands at €35million (£30m), and personal terms have already been agreed upon. The move is now on the brink of completion, with The Athletic reporting that the Senegal international has successfully undergone a medical.

Jackson will be joining alongside Christopher Nkunku and Malo Gusto from RB Leipzig and Lyon respectively, in deals that were agreed at the start of the year. His signing marks the beginning of a new era under Mauricio Pochettino, who is looking to bring in players ahead of his arrival next month.
Chelsea’s spending spree shows no sign of slowing down, with the club having spent more than £600m on transfers over the past 12 months. Brighton star Moises Caicedo is also a top target for the club, with reports suggesting the Ecuadorian favours a move to west London.
