Chelsea Reach Full Agreement to Sign Nicolas Jackson
Chelsea have reached a full agreement with Villarreal to sign their star striker Nicolas Jackson for over €35 million (£30 million).
The 22-year-old Senegalese international, who scored 12 goals in La Liga last season, is currently in London completing his medical.
The Blues will pay a little over the player’s release clause, which is €35 million (£30 million/$38 million), and will complete the payment in instalments. Chelsea have agreed on personal terms with Jackson, and a medical will be scheduled soon, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Nicolas Jackson will become Mauricio Pochettino’s second signing of the transfer window, following Ecuadorian Kendry Paez, who signed a contract to leave Independiente del Valle. Christopher Nkunku’s transfer from RB Leipzig became official this past week, but the agreement was made months prior to Pochettino taking over.
Jackson’s arrival in West London comes after he enjoyed a sensational end to the campaign for the LaLiga side, scoring nine goals in his final eight league matches. Across the 2022/23 campaign, he registered 13 goals and five assists in 38 appearances.
