Chelsea appears to be leading the race for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian international has reportedly decided to join the Blues, disappointing Arsenal and Manchester United.

Caicedo, a key player for Brighton, has been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. However, the 21-year-old midfielder has reportedly set his sights on a move to Stamford Bridge. Despite signing a new contract with Brighton recently, Caicedo has expressed his desire to move, and the club has accepted his decision.

Chelsea’s new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is keen on bringing Caicedo to West London. The Blues have already agreed on personal terms with the player, and negotiations with Brighton over the transfer fee are ongoing. Brighton is reportedly holding out for their £80 million asking price, but Chelsea is confident of landing one of their primary targets.

The move for Caicedo comes after Chelsea’s failed attempt to sign Manuel Urgarte, who is headed to Paris Saint-Germain. The Blues are currently the only team actively bidding and in official talks for Caicedo, although Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both waiting in the wings.

Caicedo’s potential move to Chelsea could be a significant blow to Arsenal, who have been linked with the player for some time. The Gunners have reportedly moved on from Caicedo and are now focusing on West Ham’s Declan Rice as their top midfield target.
