Lionel Messi, the World Cup winner and one of the most celebrated footballers of all time, is set to play his last game for Paris St Germain (PSG). The Argentine forward will be taking the field for the last time against Clermont this Saturday, marking the end of his two-year stint with the French club.

Messi’s journey with PSG has been nothing short of remarkable. Since his move from Barcelona in 2021, he has contributed 21 goals and 20 assists in all competitions this season. The 35-year-old has led Argentina to the World Cup title in Qatar and also boasts a record seven Ballon d’Or awards. His tenure at PSG has seen him win the Ligue 1 title in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, as well as the French Super Cup in July 2022.

PSG’s coach, Christophe Galtier, expressed his admiration for Messi, stating, “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. This will be his last match at the Parc des Princes, and I hope that he will receive the warmest of welcomes.

However, Messi’s future remains a topic of speculation. Reports suggest that he has received a formal offer to join Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal next season. There are also rumors of a potential return to his boyhood club Barcelona, and the United States’ Major League Soccer club Inter Miami is also being touted as a possible destination.
