Kai Havertz Completes £65m Move from Chelsea to Arsenal

Arsenal have completed the signing of Chelsea forward Kai Havertz for a £65 million fee, making him Mikel Arteta’s first signing of the summer.

Havertz expressed his excitement to join Arsenal, stating, “It’s super exciting for me to be joining this amazing club and to be part of the Arsenal family. This club has such a big history, and I hope we can achieve lots of things”. Arsenal are set to pay an initial £62 million for Havertz, with a further £3 million in add-ons.

Havertz completed his medical over the weekend, and the deal is expected to be finalized soon. Havertz will reportedly wear the number 29 shirt for the Gunners.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen the team after finishing second in the league last season. In addition to Havertz, Arsenal are working on a deal to sign West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, with a fee worth £105 million agreed upon.

Since joining Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen three years ago in a deal worth up to £90 million ($113.8 million), Havertz has made 139 appearances for the club, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists. Stay tuned to Sky Sports for more updates on this transfer and other football news.
