Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of signing of Empoli’s goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.
Tottenham Hotspur has made its first signing of the summer transfer window, securing the services of Empoli’s goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. The 26-year-old Italian shot-stopper, who has been hailed as one of the best keepers in Serie A, is set to join the Premier League side for a fee of €19m.
The deal, which transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has confirmed, comes as Tottenham looks to find a long-term replacement for the outgoing Hugo Lloris. Vicario, who has been with Empoli for the past two seasons, is expected to fill this role, bringing a wealth of experience from Italy’s top-flight league.

Vicario is expected to fly to London within the next 24 hours to undergo a medical and sign the contract with Tottenham. The agreement is set to run until June 2028. No details regarding Vicario’s salary with Spurs have been released yet, but the keeper is expected to receive a raise on his current weekly earnings of €21,000.
The deal is expected to be officially announced by the club either later today or early tomorrow. Tottenham fans will be eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new number one, as the club looks to build a competitive squad for the upcoming season.
