Ruben Loftus-Cheek Joins AC Milan from Chelsea for £14M

AC Milan have completed the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea in a deal worth £14 million, plus an additional £3 million in add-ons. The 27-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract with the Italian giants, ending his 19-year association with Chelsea.

This marks the first signing of the summer for AC Milan, who are looking to reinforce their midfield after the departure of Sandro Tonali.

Loftus-Cheek’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, confirmed the transfer, stating that it is a “done deal”. The English midfielder will soon arrive in Milan to undergo medical tests before officially signing the contract. Loftus-Cheek’s move to AC Milan sees him reunited with former academy teammate, centre-back Fikayo Tomori, and Champions League winner Olivier Giroud.

During his time at Chelsea, Loftus-Cheek made 155 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 18 assists, and won Premier League, Europa League, and UEFA Super Cup winner’s medals. Chelsea have expressed their gratitude to Loftus-Cheek for his 19 years at the club and wished him the best for the next chapter in his career.

AC Milan are also expected to sign one or two more midfielders this summer, as Ismael Bennacer will be sidelined until the end of the year. The club is currently in talks to sign USMNT stars Christian Pulisic from Chelsea and Yunus Musah from Valencia.
