Real Madrid is reportedly interested in Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies. The Spanish giants have allegedly made contact over a potential move for the Canadian international, as they look to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Real Madrid’s Summer Transfer Plans

Real Madrid is expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, with several key players including Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Diaz set to leave the club. The club is keen to bolster its attacking options and midfield, with Jude Bellingham being a potential addition.

However, the club also needs to address its left-back position due to the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Ferland Mendy and Nacho Fernandez. Mendy has struggled with injuries throughout the 2022-23 season, and Nacho Fernandez’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month.

Davies: A Potential Target

Davies has emerged as a potential target for Real Madrid. The club has reportedly made contact with Bayern Munich to inquire about the player’s availability. According to Marca, Bayern has not closed the door on a potential sale, although they are keen to retain Davies.

The Canadian international has two years left on his contract, and Bayern is looking to secure his services with a new deal. Davies’ agent, Nedal Huoseh, recently admitted that his client is attracting interest from several clubs. He stated, “A number of clubs are interested [in Davies] but no direct talks [on a transfer]. Davies has two years left on his contract. Bayern are hoping to extend the contract. Nothing confirmed yet.

Since joining Bayern in 2019, Davies has made 152 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals and providing 25 assists.

As the transfer season unfolds, it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can secure the services of Alphonso Davies and how this potential move could impact both clubs’ plans for the upcoming season.
