Paris Saint-Germain is actively pursuing the acquisition of Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez during the current summer transfer window.
In a report by renowned transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano, it was revealed that the French capital club is determined to make the 27-year-old their priority target in the upcoming week.
Romano further mentioned that the former Bayern Munich board members, Hasan Salihamidzić and Oliver Kahn, had initially intended to retain Hernandez and had no intentions of entering negotiations. However, with their departure, the situation seems to have changed.
According to Romano, discussions between Hernandez and PSG are progressing well. However, the same cannot be said about the negotiations between the French club and the German giants, Bayern Munich.
Marco Asensio Poised to Join PSG on Four-Year Deal
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio will be playing his final match as a member of Los Blancos on Sunday. It was confirmed on Saturday that the 27-year-old midfielder would be leaving the club as his contract expires at the end of the month.
Asensio has already made a decision regarding his next destination. Fabrizio Romano reports that a verbal agreement has been reached between Asensio and PSG, where the Spanish midfielder is set to sign a four-year contract.
To finalize the deal, Asensio is expected to travel to Paris in the coming week. This transfer would see him filling the void left by Lionel Messi, who is also departing PSG when his contract expires later this month.
With the Euro 2024 tournament on the horizon, Asensio is eager to secure regular playing time in order to enhance his chances of earning a place in Luis de la Fuente’s squad. The departure of Messi from PSG could provide him with the opportunity to solidify his position within the team.
