Marcelo Brozović Set to Join Al-Nassr in €23M Deal

Inter Milan’s midfielder Marcelo Brozović is set to join Al-Nassr. The two clubs have reached an agreement, with the deal expected to close tomorrow. The transfer fee agreed upon is €23 million.

Brozović, a 30-year-old Croatian midfielder, has been a core part of Simone Inzaghi’s squad in the Lombardy capital. He has featured prominently this season, seeing over 2500 minutes of action across 40 games, including the full 90 minutes of the Champions League final. He has played the last eight seasons with Inter Milan, which picked him up from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015, totalling 330 appearances and 31 goals in all competitions.

The midfielder has already agreed personal terms with Al-Nassr and will earn €20 million per season, signing a three-year deal. This is a significant increase from his earnings at Inter, where he was making €12 million per season.

Barcelona were also interested in Brozović, but they have now missed out. They were keen on signing him in the past in a potential swap deal for Franck Kessie, but a move never went through due to the finances involved. Al-Nassr thus beat off competition from Barcelona, which wanted Brozović to replace Sergio Busquets, who moved to Inter Miami.

At Al-Nassr, Brozović will join a team that includes Cristiano Ronaldo and former Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina, among others.
