West Ham United have rejected Manchester City’s opening offer for Declan Rice.
Manchester City, the reigning Premier League champions, had tabled their opening offer for Rice on Monday evening. The bid consisted of a fixed £80m fee and another £10m in add-ons for the Hammers.
This proposal matched Arsenal’s second bid for Rice, but with a higher fixed fee. However, West Ham has rejected the offer, holding out for a higher fee for Rice’s sale.
West Ham is prepared to sell the midfielder but is holding out for the maximum fee. The east London club wants the fee to exceed the £100m mark and is waiting for either Arsenal or Manchester City to put in a suitable offer.
