Manchester City have entered the race to sign Gabri Veiga, the talented midfielder from Celta Vigo, following their decision to withdraw their interest in Declan Rice.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Veiga’s contract with Celta Vigo includes a release clause of €40 million (£34 million). Manchester City have joined the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool in expressing interest in the young talent and have requested to be kept informed about his situation throughout the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old Spanish midfielder had a breakthrough season in La Liga, scoring 11 goals in 36 appearances and playing a crucial role in helping Celta Vigo avoid relegation. Veiga’s impressive performances also earned him a call-up to the Spain U21 squad for this summer’s European Championship.
