Late Richarlison strike denies Liverpool crucial points at Anfield, as Tottenham snatches a dramatic 1-1 draw in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison stunned Anfield with a dramatic 90th-minute equalizer on March 15, 2026. His late goal snatched a crucial point for Spurs. This denied Liverpool a much-needed Premier League victory.

The Reds, sitting sixth in the table, aimed to solidify their European qualification hopes. Meanwhile, 16th-placed Tottenham arrived struggling for form, desperate to end a run of five consecutive league losses.

Liverpool started brightly, dominating possession and probing Tottenham’s defence with purpose. Their attacking intent paid off early in the contest, setting an aggressive tone.

In the 18th minute, Dominik Szoboszlai broke the deadlock. The midfielder fired home, giving the home side a deserved lead and igniting the Anfield crowd.

Despite Liverpool’s control, Tottenham tested Alisson Becker multiple times. The Reds’ goalkeeper made several key stops, preserving their slender advantage through the first half.

At the interval, Liverpool held a fragile one-goal lead. Tottenham showed glimpses of their attacking threat, suggesting the second half could bring more drama.

The second half began with increased intensity from both sides. Tottenham’s Igor Tudor received a yellow card in the 48th minute for a rash challenge, highlighting the growing tension.

Tottenham made early changes, bringing on Souza for Xavi Simons in the 56th minute. Liverpool responded with a triple substitution in the 64th minute, introducing Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Rio Ngumoha.

As the clock ticked down, Tottenham pressed higher, sensing an opportunity. Randal Kolo Muani, a late substitute, delivered a crucial pass in the dying minutes, impacting the game.

In the 90th minute, Richarlison capitalized on the opportunity. He drilled the ball past Alisson Becker to level the score, silencing most of Anfield.

Liverpool dominated possession with 63% but only managed 4 shots on target from 17 attempts. Tottenham, with 37% possession, was more clinical, putting 7 of their 13 shots on goal. Expected goals were Liverpool 1.58, Tottenham 1.14.

This hard-fought draw sees Liverpool remain in sixth position, missing a chance to close the gap above them. Tottenham earns a vital point, a much-needed boost in their fight to climb the Premier League table.
