Burnley and Wolves played out a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor, with both sides unable to break the deadlock despite dominating spells and clear-cut chances.

Both teams arrived at Turf Moor fighting for their Premier League survival. Burnley sat 19th with 21 points from 37 matches. Wolves occupied the bottom spot with 19 points. Neither side could afford dropped points in this crucial encounter.

Burnley made an explosive start to the match. Just five minutes in, Armstrong stepped up to take a penalty kick. He converted from the spot to give the hosts an early lead.

The penalty came after Burnley won possession in dangerous territory. Armstrong’s clinical finish from 12 yards sent the home crowd into celebration. Wolves needed to respond quickly to avoid falling further behind.

The visitors pressed forward seeking an equalizer. Burnley controlled possession with 70 percent of the ball. However, Wolves showed resilience and created their own opportunities despite seeing less of the ball.

Hwang Hee-Chan received a yellow card in the 41st minute for a reckless challenge. The caution reflected the intensity building before halftime. Mejbri picked up a second yellow for Wolves in stoppage time at the end of the first half.

The second half began with Wolves determined to level the score. Just two minutes after the restart, Zian Flemming struck. The midfielder fired past the goalkeeper to make it 1-1 in the 47th minute.

Flemming’s goal transformed the match completely. Wolves now had momentum despite their numerical disadvantage in possession. Both teams pushed for a winner as the match entered its final phase.

Burnley dominated the statistics but could not find the breakthrough. The hosts recorded 16 total shots with eight on target. Wolves managed 16 shots with only four on target. Expected goals favored Wolves at 1.91 compared to Burnley’s 1.27.

Max Weiss made three crucial saves for Burnley in goal. José Sá produced seven saves for Wolves to keep his team in the match. Both goalkeepers earned ratings of 7.3 and 8.5 respectively.

The final whistle came with neither team able to find victory. Burnley registered seven corner kicks while Wolves matched that total. Four yellow cards were shown in the closing stages as tensions rose.

This draw leaves both teams in the relegation zone with three matches remaining. Burnley remain 19th while Wolves stay bottom. Both sides will need immediate wins to have any chance of survival.
