Fenerbahce have announced the signing of Edin Dzeko on a free transfer. The 37-year-old Bosnian striker, whose contract with Inter Milan recently expired, is set to begin a new chapter.

The Turkish giants have reportedly signed Dzeko on a two-year contract, which will see him stay at the club until the summer of 2025. The deal includes a salary of around €4 million net plus add-ons, along with a substantial sign-on bonus. This move will allow Dzeko to continue his career in Europe, as Fenerbahce will be competing in the Europa Conference League qualifiers.

In a statement released on social media, Fenerbahce announced, “World-famous striker Edin Dzeko will come to Istanbul to pass the health checks and complete the transfer negotiations. We present it to the public.”

Dzeko’s decision to move to Fenerbahce comes despite being offered a one-year extension by Inter Milan. However, the Bosnian international chose to seek a new challenge after being asked to take a pay cut.

The striker’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, had been negotiating the move to the Turkish side for the last few days. Despite some initial roadblocks, the deal has now been sealed. Dzeko, who was on holiday in Turkey, will arrive in Istanbul to sign the official documents.
