Claudio Ranieri has managed to pull off another impossible task as his Serie B side Cagliari managed promotion back to Serie A. Ranieri only came in in December when the Italian side were in 14th place.
A last-minute winner saw his side get promoted back to the Italian first division. Leonardo Pavoletti came off the bench in the 89th minute and volleyed an added-time winner to seal a 2-1 aggregate victory.

This is Ranieri’s second stint at the Italian club after the first one resulted in back-to-back promotions from Serie C to A. 30 years later, he got them promoted again as he continues to write a historical legacy at the club.

The first leg had ended in a 1-1 draw and a 0-0 draw yesterday would have seen Bari qualify as they finished higher up on the table. However, the last-minute goal sees them qualify on aggregate.
