Christophe Galtier arrested for alleged racist remarks!

Paris Saint Germain head coach Christophe Galtier has been arrested as part of an investigation into discriminatory allegations at OGC Nice. He was accused in April of using derogatory, racist and insulting comments about Muslim players when he was at Nice. His son John-Valovic Galtier has also been arrested as part of this investigation.

Through a statement from his lawyer, Galtier denied the accusations “with the greatest firmness”. He then said in a press conference that he will take legal action against those who are “damaging my reputation”. Galtier has filed a legal complaint for “insulting and defamatory remarks”.

PSG have been contacted for comment. In April, they said: “Serious allegations have been made in the media against our coach Christophe Galtier. Christophe responded clearly by firmly denying them and announcing that he was going to take legal action. The club supports Christophe Galtier after the numerous and unacceptable threats he has received and now wants the truth to be established by justice.”

Nice previously said: “The facts related concern two people who no longer work for OGC Nice. This situation was treated with the utmost seriousness at the time of the events. The club will not comment further.”

Galtier’s exit from PSG seemed inevitable despite this arrest as the Paris club is set to appoint Luis Enrique as their new head coach. This arrest just cements their position as Galtier faces legal action.
