Chelsea Keen on Signing Real Madrid Federico Valverde
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid star midfielder Federico Valverde. The 24-year-old Uruguayan international has been with Real Madrid since 2016 and has established himself as a key player in the first team.
Valverde’s Performance at Real Madrid
Valverde has been in sensational form over the last few seasons. In the 2022/23 season, he featured in 56 matches and was involved in 19 goals, scoring 12 times and providing seven assists. His versatility, playing as a central midfielder and a right winger, makes him an important player for Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti.
Chelsea’s new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is a big fan of Valverde and would love to have him at his disposal. Pochettino believes Valverde’s style could be of great use to the club. Box-to-box midfielders have done wonders in the Premier League over the years, and Valverde could be a great asset for the Blues.
Chelsea initially put forward an offer of €100 million for the versatile midfielder. However, with Real Madrid not really interested in offloading Valverde, the Blues have increased their offer to €120 million plus another €20 million in add-ons.
Real Madrid’s Stance
Despite the lucrative offer, Real Madrid might not be willing to let Valverde go. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2027, and he is considered an important part of their plans moving forward. Valverde himself is keen on continuing with Real Madrid and might not be tempted irrespective of the offer.
