Bournemouth Appoints Andoni Iraola as New Head Coach

Bournemouth Football Club has recently made an official announcement confirming the appointment of Andoni Iraola as their new head coach, signing him on a two-year deal.

The surprising dismissal of Gary O’Neil earlier on Monday paved the way for Iraola to take charge at the Vitality Stadium.

Official Statement

In a statement, Bill Foley, the chairman of Bournemouth, said: “We’re very thrilled to welcome Andoni to the club.”

“His contract in Spain was set to expire this summer, so we needed to move swiftly.”

“He was much sought after by other clubs across the continent, and we made this choice in part because of his playing style.”

“We are confident that he is the right man to lead our next chapter because of his achievements in Spain.”

Iraola’s recent stint at Rayo Vallecano

Iraola, hailing from Spain, joins the club after the expiration of his contract with Rayo Vallecano, a prominent LaLiga team.

In his previous role, he successfully guided Rayo Vallecano to an impressive 11th-place finish in the league during the previous season.

The 40-year-old coach’s tenure with Rayo Vallecano began with their promotion to the Spanish top-flight in the 2020/21 campaign.

He continued to achieve notable success by leading them to the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey in the subsequent season.
