Aston Villa Agree £35m Deal for Villarreal Defender Pau Torres
Aston Villa have agreed on a £35m deal with Villarreal to sign Spanish defender Pau Torres.
The 26-year-old center-back is expected to join the Premier League side, reuniting with his former manager Unai Emery. Torres has reportedly agreed on personal terms, and the transfer is set to be finalized after his medical examination.
Torres has made over 170 appearances for Villarreal’s first team and earned 23 caps for the Spanish national team. He was also tracked by Bayern Munich, but the German club opted to sign Napoli’s Kim Min-jae instead.
A product of Villarreal’s youth system, Torres has been a key figure in the club’s defence. His composure, aerial prowess, and ability to read the game have attracted interest from several top European clubs.
The official announcement of Torres’s transfer to Aston Villa is expected soon.
