Jonathan Burkardt scored a first-half hat-trick as Eintracht Frankfurt stormed into the DFB-Pokal second round with a record-breaking 11-0 thrashing of fifth-tier debutants SC St. Tönis.
Returning head coach Adi Hütter enjoyed the perfect start to his competitive comeback, as his side put ten goals past their Oberliga Niederrhein opponents before the break at the Grotenburg-Stadion.
After kickoff was briefly delayed to repair a loose goal net, Burkardt headed in Can Uzun's corner inside four minutes to set the tone on a pitch displaying visible American football markings.
Uzun delivered another pin-point corner six minutes later for Robin Koch to double the lead, before Ayoube Amaimouni-Echghouyab struck in the 17th minute to make it three.
Burkardt added his second just before the half-hour mark before Uzun turned goalscorer himself, netting twice in the space of two minutes to extend the advantage to six.
Burkardt completed his treble in the 41st minute, followed in quick succession by strikes from Elias Baum and Younes Ebnoutalib as Frankfurt completely overran the minnows.
Mario Götze capped an astonishing opening period deep into first-half stoppage time, ensuring the Bundesliga outfit reached double figures before the interval.
St. Tönis fought bravely in front of a sold-out crowd of 10, 893 and almost found a consolation when Lenni Castrop went through on goal, but goalkeeper Kauã Santos denied him.
Frankfurt eased off during the second half before substitute Farès Chaïbi rounded off the historic scoring in the 87th minute with the visitors' eleventh goal.
The 11-0 triumph represents the biggest DFB-Pokal victory in Frankfurt's history, effortlessly banishing the memory of their recent pre-season friendly defeat against Brentford.
