Everton have agreed a fee with Chelsea to sign academy midfielder Arthur Barratt on a permanent transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano on June 30, 2026.
Romano describes the move as an exclusive, with the 2009-born midfielder set to swap Cobham for Goodison Park despite interest from several other Premier League clubs.
The exact fee agreed between the two clubs remains undisclosed, but Everton view Barratt as a long-term investment within their strategy to secure young talent.
Barratt joined Chelsea's academy at the age of seven and has built a strong reputation in the club's youth ranks, making him a coveted prospect across the top flight.
Alongside that agreement, Everton are also in progressing talks with Chelsea to permanently sign 20-year-old winger Tyrique George, who spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on Merseyside.
George joined on loan in February 2026 with a £25 million option to buy attached, but Everton chose not to trigger that clause outright.
Instead, the clubs have entered fresh negotiations to restructure the fee and payment terms, with the total package potentially reaching £25 million through performance-related add-ons and a lower upfront payment.
George made 11 Premier League appearances during his loan spell, offering David Moyes a clear picture of how the winger could fit into his longer-term plans.
The two Chelsea-linked deals form part of a busy window for Moyes, who is actively reshaping his squad following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.
Everton had already moved decisively in the market on June 29, agreeing a deal to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney in a package starting at £16.5 million plus a further £8 million in add-ons.
With Barratt's fee settled and Hackney secured, the focus now turns to finalising terms on George, whose loan stint has made him a priority retention target.
