Manchester United secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford today, with a decisive second-half goal from Bruno Fernandes sealing all three points in a tight Premier League clash.

The Red Devils entered the fixture in strong form, sitting fourth in the Premier League table with 48 points. Crystal Palace, in thirteenth position with 35 points, sought to upset their hosts and improve their mid-table standing.

The visitors stunned the Old Trafford faithful by taking an early lead in the 15th minute. Eberechi Eze expertly guided home a low cross from the right flank, leaving David de Gea with no chance.

Manchester United pressed hard for an equalizer following the setback. They controlled possession but struggled to break down a resilient Crystal Palace defense. Casemiro received a yellow card in the 29th minute for a tactical foul.

The home side’s persistence finally paid off just before the break. Marcus Rashford found the net in the 38th minute, coolly slotting past the Palace goalkeeper after a clever one-two with Bruno Fernandes.

The teams headed into the interval level at 1-1. Manchester United needed to find more clinical finishing to break down a well-organized Palace side in the second half.

United started the second half with increased urgency, creating several opportunities. Palace continued to defend deep, looking to hit their opponents on the counter-attack. Marc Guéhi was booked for a foul in midfield in the 65th minute.

The decisive moment arrived in the 72nd minute. Manchester United were awarded a penalty after Marcus Rashford was brought down inside the box. Bruno Fernandes stepped up and confidently dispatched the spot-kick, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Crystal Palace pushed for an equalizer in the final stages, bringing on fresh legs in attack. However, the United defense held firm, expertly managing the game to see out the narrow lead.

Manchester United finished the match with 18 shots, 7 of which were on target, compared to Palace’s 8 shots with 3 on target. United also dominated possession with 62%, and their expected goals (xG) of 2.15 highlighted their attacking intent against Palace’s 0.98 xG.
