Villarreal held off a late Elche comeback to clinch a vital 2-1 home victory in La Liga, with first-half goals proving crucial.

Villarreal secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Elche at the Estadio de la Ceramica. First-half goals from Tajon Buchanan and Santiago Mouriño ultimately decided the contest, despite a late Elche resurgence.
