The referee’s whistle brought a surprising end to the first half, with Osasuna holding a slender lead. Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid needed a tactical rethink. They sought to reclaim their usual dominance and find an equalizer.
Real Madrid pushed for a leveller after the restart, immediately increasing their attacking tempo. Substitutions by both teams aimed to inject fresh impetus, with Real Madrid introducing Eduardo Camavinga and Dani Carvajal in the 64th minute.
