Manchester United have launched a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s French forward Randal Kolo Muani, as the club seeks to bolster its attacking options.
The 24-year-old has been on United’s radar after a productive first season in the Bundesliga, scoring 23 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.
Kolo Muani has previously expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, stating, “Honestly, who doesn’t dream of playing in the Premier League? It’s one of the best leagues that exists.” The French international is reportedly valued at £105 million, but recent reports suggest that Manchester United is baulking at the £80 million-plus price tag set by Eintracht Frankfurt.
United manager Erik Ten Hag has prioritised signing a centre-forward this summer, with Harry Kane being the ideal candidate. However, with Tottenham’s £100 million price tag for Kane, United is considering alternatives like Kolo Muani. The Frenchman has been compared to Thierry Henry due to his tall, fast, and elegant playing style, and is described as a “very modern center-forward.”
Kolo Muani’s impressive statistics from the 2022-2023 season include 32 appearances, 811 sprints, 1,897 intensive runs, and a top speed of 35.97 km/h. In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, he also contributed the most assists in the Bundesliga, creating 14 goals.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s former manager, Oliver Glasner, has praised Kolo Muani’s potential, stating that he played a “crucial” role for the team and displayed his speed and potential early on. This could be encouraging for Manchester United as they weigh up a move for the forward.
