Manchester United Monitoring Leon Goretzka Amid Bayern Munich’s Pursuit of Declan Rice

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring the situation of Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg.

The Red Devils are keeping tabs on Goretzka as they are aware of the uncertainty surrounding his future amid Bayern’s pursuit of West Ham United captain Declan Rice.

However, Plettenberg clarifies that there have been no talks or negotiations between Manchester United and Goretzka regarding a potential move this summer.

The 28-year-old German midfielder remains calm and has expressed his desire to stay at the Allianz Arena.

Nevertheless, Goretzka may be cautious about Bayern’s interest in Rice. The Bavarian club’s manager, Thomas Tuchel, holds a strong admiration for the English midfielder and is playing a significant role in their pursuit of signing him.

It is worth noting that Manchester United previously attempted to secure Goretzka’s services in 2021.

During that time, he was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, but he ultimately decided to extend his contract with Bayern, which now runs until 2026.

Consequently, the Bundesliga champions are not under any pressure to sell the midfielder this summer, and Transfermarkt values him at €65 million.
