According to a report from The Athletic, Manchester United is actively engaged in discussions with Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund and Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani regarding a potential transfer this summer.
The club is in search of a striker, and while their ideal addition would be Tottenham’s Kane, there are doubts about their ability to convince Spurs to sell. As a result, United has opened dialogue with Atalanta and Frankfurt about the two strikers.
Both Højlund and Muani have enjoyed impressive debut seasons at their respective clubs, especially Muani, who has recorded a remarkable 15 goals and 11 assists in the Bundesliga, making him the league’s most productive player in terms of goal contributions.
Højlund, a Danish international who joined Atalanta for £14.5m from Sturm Graz, has scored eight goals in 19 Serie A starts. However, his exceptional movement, speed, and power have attracted interest from several European clubs.

Højlund is considered the more likely signing for Manchester United, as Atalanta is expected to demand a lower fee for the Danish striker compared to the Frankfurt’s €80m (£68.7m) valuation of Kolo Muani.
John Murtough, United’s football director, has been engaged in detailed talks with various transfer targets since the team secured Champions League football for the next season. He has had multiple conversations with Atalanta and Frankfurt, both of whom are reportedly willing to sell their players if the right price is offered.
