Jordi Alba is currently engaged in negotiations for a potential transfer to Inter Miami this summer, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano.
This move could potentially result in a reunion with his former teammate and close friend, Lionel Messi.
Alba confirmed his departure from Barcelona last month, drawing the curtains on his remarkable 11-year spell with the first team.
The 34-year-old experienced a decline in playing time during the past season, as manager Xavi Hernandez favored Alejandro Balde as the primary left-back.
Given his reduced involvement on the pitch and the financial challenges faced by the club, Alba, who was set to earn wages exceeding €30 million for the upcoming season, made the difficult decision to part ways with Barcelona.
Despite having one year remaining on his contract, the esteemed defender, who now serves as the captain of the Spanish national team, sought new opportunities elsewhere.
Alba has received two offers from Saudi Arabia, where clubs are actively targeting seasoned stars from across Europe. Additionally, there have been reports linking him to clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

However, the prominent news from Romano states that Alba is presently engaged in active negotiations with Inter Miami, making a move to the Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise a realistic possibility.
Following Inter Miami’s successful acquisition of Messi, rumors surfaced about their intentions to reunite the Argentine captain with several of his former Barcelona teammates, including Alba, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suarez.
While Suarez promptly dismissed the idea of joining the MLS from Gremio at this stage, both Alba and Busquets could potentially find themselves alongside Messi in Florida.
Regarding Alba, it should be emphasized once again that, apart from Inter Miami, he has received two offers from Saudi Arabia. According to Romano, the seasoned left-back is yet to make a final decision regarding his future and intends to carefully evaluate all available options before choosing his next club in the coming weeks.
