Bayern Munich has confirmed the signing of former Chelsea players Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder. The duo, who announced their exit from Chelsea last month, have now officially joined the German club, signing three-year contracts.

Eriksson, a defender, and Harder, a midfielder, have been unveiled as the latest additions to Bayern Munich’s squad. Eriksson made a total of 36 appearances for Chelsea this season, while Harder played 15 times and scored 11 goals.

Harder expressed her excitement about joining Bayern Munich, saying, “FC Bayern is a terrific club, the players and the team have a lot of potential. I definitely wanted to become a part of it. I also got a good impression of [manager] Alexander Straus.” Eriksson echoed these sentiments, stating, “The potential is simply huge and everything I’ve heard about the club and Munich has been entirely positive. One reason I wanted to come here is that I’d never heard so many good things from former players.

Both Eriksson and Harder have had illustrious careers at Chelsea. Harder has won the Women’s Super League and the FA Cup three times, while Eriksson, who has been the captain of the Blues since 2017, has also won the Super League three times.

Bayern Munich, the current Bundesliga champions, are now preparing for their title defence. They ended their season with a resounding 11-1 victory over Potsdam.
