Bayern München overcame a late Eintracht Frankfurt rally, securing a vital 3-2 Bundesliga victory powered by a Harry Kane double at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern München secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in a thrilling Bundesliga encounter. Harry Kane emerged as the undisputed hero, scoring twice to ensure the champions claimed all three points.

The match took place at the iconic Allianz Arena on February 21, 2026. Bayern entered the game atop the Bundesliga, showcasing strong form with four wins in their last five. Frankfurt, currently seventh, sought to upset the league leaders and boost their European qualification hopes.

The Bavarians started brightly, eager to assert their dominance. Their early pressure paid off in the 16th minute. Young midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović opened the scoring, finding the net with a precise finish to give Bayern an early lead.

Just four minutes later, Bayern doubled their advantage. Harry Kane capitalised on a well-placed assist from Josip Stanišić. Kane guided the ball home, further solidifying Bayern’s strong start to the match.

Frankfurt struggled to create clear-cut chances against a resolute Bayern defence. The away side’s frustrations grew as the half progressed. Jean-Mattéo Bahoya received a yellow card for a foul just before the break in the 44th minute.

Bayern went into halftime with a comfortable two-goal lead. However, Frankfurt knew they needed a significant change in approach. A more aggressive second-half display was essential for the visitors to get back into the game.

The second half saw a tactical substitution for Bayern, with Alphonso Davies entering the fray in the 50th minute. Frankfurt also made multiple changes around the hour mark, introducing fresh attacking talent in an attempt to spark a comeback.

Despite Frankfurt’s efforts, Harry Kane continued to threaten. In the 68th minute, he completed his double, slotting home an effort following a precise pass from Joshua Kimmich. This goal extended Bayern’s lead to 3-0, seemingly putting the game beyond doubt.

Yet, Eintracht Frankfurt refused to surrender. Jonathan Burkardt pulled one back for the visitors in the 77th minute. He confidently converted a penalty, injecting new hope into the match.

The tension heightened in the 86th minute when Arnaud Kalimuendo scored a crucial goal for Frankfurt. His late strike reduced the shortfall to a single goal, setting up a nervy finish for the home side.

Bayern showed attacking prowess with 22 total shots and 11 on target. Frankfurt managed only 7 total shots, with 2 on target. Frankfurt’s expected goals (xG) stood at 1.76, close to Bayern’s 1.94. Possession was evenly split, with Bayern holding 51% to Frankfurt’s 49%.

This victory solidifies Bayern München’s position at the top of the Bundesliga table. Eintracht Frankfurt, despite a spirited late fightback, remains in seventh place. The champions will reflect on a win that was harder than it looked.
