Ange Postecoglou is reportedly set to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur. According to Fabrizio Romano, a respected football journalist, the club has reached a verbal agreement with the current Celtic manager.
A Successful Tenure at Celtic
Postecoglou has had a successful tenure at Celtic, leading the team to a treble this season. Under his leadership, Celtic won the Scottish Premier League, the Scottish FA Cup, and the Scottish League Cup. Out of a possible 53 games this term, Postecoglou’s team won 41, drew five, and lost only seven.
Born in Athens, the 57-year-old Australian citizen has had a diverse managerial career. He has managed Australia’s under 17 and under 20 teams, South Melbourne, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory, and the Australian senior national team. He also managed current J-League champions Yokohama F. Marinos before joining Celtic in 2021.
A New Chapter at Tottenham Hotspur
The agreement with Tottenham Hotspur is for a two-year contract, with an option for a further year, which could extend the deal until June 2026. The next stage is to finalize a deal with Celtic. This move comes at a time when Tottenham Hotspur is in need of a new manager, and Postecoglou’s successful track record makes him a strong candidate.
